Silk Washing Instructions

Silk is a natural, protein fiber, like your hair. I use shampoo to wash my silk.

All my silk products are heat or steam set to bond the color to the silk. For Colorhue dyes, let the silk dry for 24 hours, to set the dye and follow the washing instructions.

Hand wash in cool water with a few drops of shampoo. Squeeze suds through silk. Rinse until water is clear. Don’t be alarmed if there is some color loss. This is perfectly normal. Have a towel ready, lay the silk on the towel, roll up to remove the excess water. Turn on iron, medium-high heat. Iron scarf on the back side. Note how the hem rolls to the back.
